ETS is continually working to enhance the TOEFL exam experience, and several key updates have been introduced for 2024: 

• Easier Registration: Starting from July 26, 2023, the registration process for the TOEFL exam has been streamlined on the official ETS website. 
• Shorter Exam Duration: The total testing time has been reduced to just under 2 hours (116 minutes), down from the previous 3 hours. 
• Improved User Experience: Test-takers will now benefit from clearer instructions and more intuitive navigation. 
• TOEFL Go! App: The new TOEFL Go! app, which is available for free, offers tools for on-the-go study, including instant feedback, scoring, coaching, and comparison features. 
• Updated Reading Section: The reading section has been made more concise. 
• Removal of Unscored Questions: All questions that were previously not scored have been removed. 
• Local Payment Methods: Candidates can now pay their exam fees using local payment options for greater convenience. 
• Expanded Customer Support: A new customer service center will be available every day for 12 hours. 

There are no specific eligibility criteria for taking the TOEFL exam. It is open to anyone who wants to demonstrate their English proficiency for academic purposes. However, candidates should check the specific requirements of the institutions they are applying to.

The cost of the TOEFL exam varies by country. On average, the fee ranges from USD 180 to USD 250.  For 2024, the TOEFL exam fee in India is 16,900 INR, which covers both the internet-based test (iBT) and the TOEFL Home Edition, including GST. Rescheduling the test incurs a fee of 5,000 INR. If you cancel at least four days before the scheduled date, you may receive a 50% refund. The cost also includes sending scores to up to four institutions, with additional score reports available for 1,800 INR each.

Test Centers in India:

The TOEFL exam pattern for 2024 includes four sections: 

- Reading: 2-3 passages with 10 questions each
