It was one of several regional institutes that made up the TAFE NSW network. Under the New South Wales Government's 'One TAFE NSW' reforms, these separate institutes were brought together into a single organisation, TAFE NSW, which now operates as one registered training organisation across the state. The former Sydney Institute campuses, including TAFE NSW Ultimo on Harris Street, continue to deliver vocational courses to domestic and international students.
