The Perth Institute of Business and Technology (PIBT) was established in 1994 in Perth as the first pathway college of Navitas, in partnership with Edith Cowan University (ECU). It prepared students for ECU degrees through foundation programs and diplomas. In 2016, under a joint venture between Navitas and Edith Cowan University, PIBT was renamed Edith Cowan College (ECC) and now operates under that name. Based on ECU's Mount Lawley and Joondalup campuses in Perth, it offers foundation, diploma, postgraduate qualifying and English language programs that provide pathways into Edith Cowan University degrees across business, engineering, health and other fields.

Yes. The Perth Institute of Business and Technology, or PIBT, was renamed Edith Cowan College in 2016, when Navitas and Edith Cowan University formed a joint venture. The college's pathway role stayed the same; only the name changed, so students now enrol with Edith Cowan College rather than PIBT.

Students who do not directly meet Edith Cowan University's entry requirements can study at Edith Cowan College first. A diploma covers the same content as the first year of an ECU degree, so on successful completion, and subject to requirements, students move into the second year of the related bachelor's degree.
