Named after the writer and academic Sir Walter Murdoch, its main campus is a bushland site in the southern suburbs of Perth that includes Western Australia's first veterinary school. Murdoch is the only Australian city university with a farm on campus, and runs a veterinary teaching hospital and working farms used for hands-on learning.
