Established in 1973 by an Act of the federal Parliament, it operates as a Commonwealth Government statutory authority and trains people for careers in film, television, radio and related screen industries. Its campus is at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, Sydney, with facilities including soundstages, post-production suites and radio studios. AFTRS offers a Bachelor of Arts in screen production, master's degrees in screen and in screen business and leadership, a graduate diploma in radio and podcasting, plus short courses taught by industry practitioners.
